联合国前副秘书长埃里克·索尔海姆在杭州西湖，遇到了一位环保志愿者。
In Hangzhou’s West Lake, Erik Solheim, former under-secretary-general of the United Nations, met an environmental volunteer named Zhu Shuhong.
他叫竹书鸿。每天凌晨4点半，他都会准时出现在西湖边——不是为了锻炼，也不是为了拍照，而是为了捡“垃圾”。他已经坚持了4000多天。
Every morning at 4:30 am, no matter rain or shine, Zhu arrives at the West Lake on time—not for exercise or sightseeing, but to clear aquatic weeds. For over 4,000 days, he has kept this quiet vigil.
但竹书鸿捡的，不是传统意义上的垃圾，而是湖面上的水草及漂浮物。他说，这能让西湖更美，也更健康。如今，已有几百名志愿者加入了竹书鸿的队伍。许多人在上班前抽出时间参与志愿服务，只为湖水更清澈。
Zhu does not collect plastic waste. He is removing decaying decaying vegetation to maintain the lake’s clarity and health. His dedication has inspired hundreds of volunteers, many of whom join before daytime work, all for the sake of a cleaner West Lake.
他们，是这个时代的环保英雄。
They are everyday heroes.
西湖承载的不只是风景，还有历史与文明的重量。竹书鸿每一次弯腰捡水草的动作，都在为这片土地守护记忆，也守护未来。
The West Lake bears not only scenic beauty, but also the weight of history and civilization. With every bend of his back, Zhu does more than cleaning the water, but also preserving memories and safeguarding the future.
